Beatrice Wanjuhi Mwaura
ALTERNATE TO PRINCIPAL SECRETARY, STATE DEPARTMENT FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS
Ms. Beatrice Wanjuhi Mwaura is an an advocate of the High Court of Kenya and International Relations practitioner since 2007. She’s currently the Ag. Deputy Director General, Legal Services leading the team that spearheads the drafting and negotiation of treaties and advises the State Department on all matters of legal compliance and risks. She started her professional career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kenya serving in the Legal Directorate. She has also served in the Kenya Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York as the lead on Third Committee matters (human rights, humanitarian affairs and social matters) as well as the funds and programmes of the United Nations. She has severally served in the Executive Office of the Principal Secretary in the State Department for Foreign Affairs as a technical advisor. She holds an Executive Leadership Programme Certificate from the University of Oxford, Saïd Business School, Certificates on Strategic Leadership Development Programme and Senior Management Courses from the Kenya School of Government, a Master of Laws Degree (LL.M.) from the University of London, Post Graduate Certificate from the Kenya School of Law and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from the University of Nairobi.
