Dr. Laxmana Peter Kiptoo is the Director General/CEO of Authority. He provides leadership on registration and regulation of PBO Sector in Kenya, on a day-to-day basis since his appointment on February 7, 2025. He also oversees the development and implementation of strategies aimed at protecting PBOs from terrorism financing misuse. He serves as the Secretary to the Board of Directors of the Authority. Dr. Kiptoo has over 20 years of experience in the Public Service, having also served in senior roles across multiple Government institutions, including the National Intelligence and Research University (NIRU), where he worked as a senior lecturer, the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife Headquarters, the National Police Service Headquarters, and the Office of the President. Dr. Kiptoo holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Security and Development from Kenyatta University, a Master’s degree in Sociology from the University of Nairobi, and a Bachelor’s degree in Community Development from Daystar University. In addition, he holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Strategic Studies from the University of Nairobi and a Certificate in Leadership in Crisis and Countering Violent Extremism from the International Law Enforcement Academy in New Mexico, USA. He has also attended several management courses culminating in the Strategic Leadership Development Programme (SLDP) at the Kenya School of Government (KSG). Dr. Kiptoo is a trained and accredited mediator.
