Hon. Mwambu Mabonga serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Authority since his appointment on September 15, 2023. With over 20 years in the public service, Hon Mabonga has a wealth of experience in the public sector management and governance, having served previously as a Chaplain in charge of the Prisons Staff Training College, Ruiru. He has also been a Rehabilitation Officer at the provincial level in the Kenya Prisons Service and in the then Office of the Vice President. Hon. Mabonga has also served as a Member of Parliament for Bumula Constituency in the 12th Parliament. In the National Assembly, he was a member of the Special Funds Account Committee and the Communication, Information and Innovation Committee. He had a stint as a Political Advisor to the Governor of the County Government of Trans Nzoia. Before being appointed to chair the Authority’s Board, he was the Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Insurance Regulatory Authority. He holds a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Daystar University and a Bachelor of Arts in Theology from the East Africa School of Theology. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Leadership and Management at the Management University of Africa.
