Professional Profile

Mr. Stephen Kipchumba Cheboi serves as Chairperson and team leader of the National Federation of Public Benefit Organizations, the umbrella body established under section 21 of the Public Benefit Organizations Act, 2013.

Governance and Sector Experience

He has participated in governance, leadership and management programmes at the Kenya School of Government convened by the State Corporations Advisory Committee, the Institute of Certified Secretaries and other professional bodies.

He has received training on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and has participated in local and international learning-exchange programmes within the public benefit organizations sector.

Mr. Cheboi previously served as a youth leader in the National Youth Council of Kenya and held other leadership positions at community and national levels. He has also participated in training on peace and non-violent action.

Through the Pan-African Climate Justice Alliance, he worked with the Kenya National Platform for Climate Governance to champion climate-change adaptation and mitigation and partnered with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry to promote tree planting and increased national forest cover.
