PBORA boss joins call to put girls at the centre of climate action
The Director of the Public Benefit Organizations Regulatory Authority (PBORA), Dr Laxmana Kiptoo, today joined Plan International, government representatives, development partners, public benefit organizations (PBOs), civil society, youth representatives, and girls and young women to mark the International Day of the Girl 2026.
The event was held at Pan Pacific Serviced Suites, Westlands, Nairobi. It was also attended by Ms. Rheena Ghelani, Chief Executive Officer of Plan International.
Dr Kiptoo emphasized the need to put girls at the centre of climate action, ensuring that their education, health, safety, rights, and leadership are protected in the face of climate-related challenges.
He also highlighted the critical role of PBOs and civil society in building resilient communities and creating meaningful spaces for girls and young women to take part in decisions that affect their future.
