Professional Profile
Ms. Beatrice Wanjuhi Mwaura is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and an international-relations practitioner with professional experience dating from 2007.
She currently serves as Acting Deputy Director General for Legal Services, where she leads the team responsible for drafting and negotiating treaties and advising the State Department on legal compliance and risk.
Diplomatic and Legal Experience
She began her professional career in the Legal Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kenya.
She later served at the Kenya Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York, where she led work relating to Third Committee matters, including human rights, humanitarian affairs and social matters, as well as the funds and programmes of the United Nations.
She has also served on several occasions in the Executive Office of the Principal Secretary in the State Department for Foreign Affairs as a technical adviser.
